  • Izin Tinggal Terbatas (ITAS)

A Limited Stay Permit is a permit granted to a foreigner holding a Temporary Stay Permit.

According to article 31 PP No. 32 of 1994 concerning Visas, Entry Permits and Immigration Permits ("PP No. 32/1994"), the Limited Stay Permit itself is a type of immigration permit granted to foreigners to live in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia for a limited period of time.

The Limited Stay Permit shall be given to:

  1. A foreigner who enters the Indonesian Territory with a Limited Stay Visa

  2. Foreigners who are given a change of status from a Visit Stay Permit, these foreigners include:

    1. ​Foreigners in the context of investment.

    2. Work as an expert.

    3. Perform duties as a clergy.

    4. Participate in education and training.

    5. Conducting scientific research.

    6. Join the husband or wife holding limited Stay Permit.

    7. Join the father and/or mother for a child with foreign nationality who has a family legal relationship with an Indonesian citizen father and /or mother).

    8. Join the father and/or mother holding the limited Stay Permit or the Permanent Stay Permit for a child whose age is under 18 (eighteen) years and unmarried.

    9. The foreigner who is a former Indonesian citizen, and (Foreigner who is a former of Indonesian citizen, and).

    10. Foreign elderly tourists (Foreign elderly travelers).​​

  3. ​​A child who, when born in the Indonesian Territory, his/her father and/or mother holds a limited stay permit.

  4. Foreigners who are legally married to Indonesian citizens; or (Foreigner who is legally married to Indonesian citizen; or),

  5. Children of foreigners who are legally married to Indonesian citizens (child from a foreigner who is legally married to an Indonesian citizen).

  • ​​Izin Tinggal Tetap (ITAP)

​​​A permanent Stay Permit (ITAP) is a permit granted to certain foreigners to settle and reside in Indonesian territory as Indonesian residents. Permanent Stay Permits have a validity period of 5 (five) years, except for foreigners who are husband/wife and children born in Indonesia from ITAP holders. The validity period of the Permanent Stay Permit for Foreigners in that category adjusts to the parent.

  • Naturalisasi / Pewarganegaraan (WNI)

Citizenship (naturalization) is a procedure for foreigners to obtain citizenship in the Republic of Indonesia through an application.

Foreigners are people who are not citizens of the Republic of Indonesia.
